My first window display!

Every day when I walk to and from the subway to go to work, I get to pass by some of my decorations in action. That's because I created a window display for the wine store a few doors down from my apartment in June (it's a great little shop with a great hand selected selection of wine and specialty liquor called Free Range Wine).

I decided to offer my services because there was a local wedding event taking place that weekend and I though it would be a good opportunity to promote Sparkle Motion Decor. I had 2 days to make something and a slew of Etsy orders to work on so I decided to create a multi-layered tissue tassel garland, and tissue paper flowers to stick in the empty wine bottles the owner keeps in the windows. I also provided some matching drink stirrers with my contact info on them, some cake topper garlands, and some cute trays, cake stands, and tablecloth for the table display.

The owner of the shop said he'd display the decorations as long as I'd like and he keeps asking me for more drink stirrers with my contact info because he has now run out! I really enjoyed making this window display and hope that I'll have an opportunity to create more displays later this year!

What's new on Etsy - my latest custom orders

Lately I've had the chance to work on some really fun Etsy orders. At least 1/3 of my orders are custom orders and I really enjoy the process of working with customers to create something unique. Here are some photos of some of my most recent custom orders....

Decorative cupcake toppers in custom colors that I made for a 1st birthday party. Also made a cake topper garland, a full length garland, and high chair garland.

Ribbon wands made out of mylar and tissue paper (using wooden skewers), and a cake topper garland made out of lace and tulle for an upcoming wedding. The bride (who is also a friend of mine from middle school) also ordered custom chair garlands in tulle and lace. 

Red, white and blue tissue paper and mylar tassel garland for an "election themed" baby gender reveal party. Garland was ordered by a friend and fellow Making Things Happen alum, Amber Veatch, of Amber Veatch Designs. Amber is a really talented wedding/event decorator and stylist from Florida. If you want some Sparkle Motion Decor in your life....

This summer has been pretty busy - I've been preparing for my first styled shoot, (as in the first I am 100% styling and not just providing decorations for), and I have two weddings I am creating all of the decorations for. Because of all of this work going on, I've had to put my Etsy shop in vacation mode for periods of time  - in fact its in vacation mode right now and will reopen on July 22.

So if you want to order from my Sparkle Motion Decor Etsy shop, but its in vacation mode, here's what you can do....

• For non-custom orders - Message me on Etsy or email me at SparkleMotionDecor@gmail.com. Some of the items I sell are already made and can be shipped right away. I can always re-open my shop so you can place an order.

• For custom orders or larger orders (such as 24-48 drink stirrers or picks, multiple garlands, etc.) - Again, you can message me on Etsy or email me. Turnaround time will be anywhere from 1-3 weeks, plus shipping.

• For custom wedding or party decorations - I will be able to work on a limited number of parties and a wedding this winter so message me via Etsy or email me if you want Sparkle Motion Decor to plan and create decorations for you!
